Every orbit has a moment of maximum distance — the aphelion. The coldest, quietest, most solitary coordinate in any journey around the sun. But also the point of greatest perspective.

We found 500 mechanical hearts the world forgot about — a discontinued Japanese caliber, never to be made again — and built a watch worthy of carrying them.

The Miyota 8247 — a 21-jewel Japanese automatic with a dual-subdial architecture the industry stopped making. Our supplier confirmed it: this is the final allocation. When these 500 are assembled, the 8247 ceases to exist as a living caliber.

Dual Sapphire Crystals

Sapphire on the front. Sapphire on the back. 9/10 Mohs hardness on both faces — the same crystal grade found on watches at ten times this price. Scratch it with anything short of a diamond, and the diamond loses.

Every caseback crystal earns its place through a four-stage process.

Fixture
Each sapphire locked in a CNC-machined mold. ±0.05mm tolerance. Zero movement.

Print
The nebula printed directly onto sapphire — layer by layer. No films. No stickers.

Fuse
Baked at 120°C until the ink bonds permanently to the crystal.

Test
Alcohol stress test on all 500. Any pigment lift — rejected.

Estimated dispatch is Q4 2026. Every pre-booker receives production updates as the batch moves through assembly, QC, and packaging. Your edition number is locked the moment you order — shipping order follows booking order.
Yes. The Miyota 8247 is no longer in production. Our movement supplier confirmed our allocation of 500 calibers as the final stock available. This is independently verifiable — the 8247 no longer appears in Miyota's active caliber catalog.
If your preferred number is still unclaimed, yes — contact us and we'll swap it before engraving begins. Once casebacks enter engraving, numbers are permanent.
10 ATM (100m). Rain, handwashing, swimming — all fine. Avoid hot showers and saunas (heat stresses gaskets, not depth), and it's not rated for diving. The suede strap, however, prefers to stay dry — swap to another 20mm strap for water days.
The 38mm cushion case wears beautifully on wrists from 15cm to 19cm. The strap fits 15–20cm wrists. The 20mm lug width means thousands of aftermarket straps fit if you want variety.
