Cypher Legacy Midnight dress watch with box-domed sapphire crystal and navy soleil dial
The Cypher Legacy

Return of the Curve.

In 1975 the industry flattened the glass because flat was cheaper to cut. We spent a year putting the dome back.

1975

The year the
curve died.

Flat glass was cheaper to cut. In a single decade the dome disappeared from everything you could afford — it moved upstairs, behind glass counters.

The Crystal

Sapphire,
and a tall dome.

A double-domed sapphire rising above the case exactly like the plexi domes of the sixties — except this one will never scratch.

The Dial

A pattern you feel
with your eyes.

Hobnail guilloche around the outer ring — hundreds of tiny pyramids, each catching light on its own.

We could have printed a flat imitation.

Paddock '74.
The one that started it.

A racing chronograph built for a country that was told it couldn't build one. Three batches, three thousand numbered pieces, every serial claimed.

A letter from the founder

I didn't build Cypher
for everyone.

For eight years I was told an Indian brand couldn't make watches that compete with the world. Not once. Repeatedly, by people who meant it kindly.

Then five hundred numbered pieces sold out seven days before we launched. A thousand more went in thirty days. Every one paid upfront, with a two-and-a-half month wait ahead — and not a single cancellation.

That wasn't marketing. That was you: telling friends, posting wrist shots, choosing serial numbers like the number actually meant something.

Because it does.

To the people who believed before there was any reason to — you didn't buy a watch. You funded a workshop, three more collections, and a stubborn idea about what gets made here. I don't take that lightly, and I never will.
